TOP STORY
Renewed and reimagined: The Langley returns to the charter market
Having been with her through three owners and name changes, The Langley has a special place in the heart of TWW Yachts. Built by Aegean Yachts in 2009, then named Montigne, she was the largest sailing yacht ever built by the Turkish shipyard: 57-metres in length with a 10-metre wide beam. For the last two years, the sailing yacht has been undergoing an extensive refit at RMK Marine, before re-entering the charter market in July of this year.

A sixteen year partnership
The sailing yacht has plenty of global experience, traversing from the French Coast to the Southern-Pacific and further south to the Australian Gold Coast before making her way back to the Mediterranean, all while part of the TWW family. Chartering around as Montigne for six years, she was sold and renamed Loretta, in late 2015 and sold again to her current owner in 2021, who renamed her The Langley.

A new and improved sailing yacht
One of The Langley’s biggest changes is the extension of her stern. What used to be a round, canoe-like aft has been replaced by a modern beach club, including a submersible swim platform that can effortlessly lower guests into the crystal clear waters. The submersible platform can transform into a liftable platform, making her the perfect place for a sunset dinner while cruising the azure waters of the Mediterranean.
By changing her stern, The Langley has gained an additional five metres in length, and continues to hold the title as Aegean Yachts largest sailing yacht. Additionally, her lines have been altered to give her a more sleek and flowy look.
Her interior has received a much bigger makeover. While none of the walls have been broken and no new staterooms have been added, The Langley’s interior has undergone complete refurnishing with all new fabrics and furniture.
The sailing yacht’s upper deck has received an upgrade, like the eight-person Jacuzzi replacing the original two-person one, more fitting for a yacht this size. The existing water toy collection has also been upgraded, adding wave runners, sea bobs and e-foils.

While The Langley is a sailing yacht, she has the volume of a motor yacht. Her 447 GT allows her to travel at a cruising speed of 10 knots, and a maximum speed of 12.5 knots. She is powered by twin MAN engines that can take guests anywhere throughout the Mediterranean.
The Langley has space to host large parties, weddings, or spectators at events like the Monaco Grand Prix, yet her most common guests are families and friends that enjoy a more leisure sailing experience. No matter where the yacht charters or what events she hosts, guests have the ability to stay connected with the mainland via Starlink.
A yacht needs to be cared for, looked after and that is precisely what the new owner has done.
Having gone straight from the RMK Marine shipyard into chartering season, The Langley is once again cruising around the Mediterranean, as she was designed to do.

The Evolution of Onboard Communication
The way guests experience a charter is changing fast. While the classic questions remain the same - Where are we going? What’s for lunch? What’s the Wi-Fi password? - the way guests expect answers has shifted.
In 2025, they want instant, digital access without waiting on crew or looking through handouts.
That’s where YachtEye comes in.
This all-in-one digital platform has grown with the industry. With real-time updates, interactive displays, and personalised access via iPhone, iPad, or TV, it’s now easier than ever to:
Share live itineraries with destination highlights
Upload and update menus in seconds
Provide Wi-Fi acces via a QR code
Display real-time weather and trip details
Showcase available toys and tenders
The result? Clearer communication, more efficient crew, and a smoother charter experience for everyone.
YachtEye doesn’t replace personal service, it supports it. By cutting down on repetitive questions and last-minute printouts, it frees up the crew to focus on what matters most: the guests.
