Is this the perfect charter yacht?

Hill Robinson, in collaboration with Dölker + Voges Design, has unveiled the concept for a cutting-edge 60-metre yacht, named the “Perfect Charter Yacht.” The design is tailored to maximise charter revenue by incorporating the most sought-after features that have proven successful in the charter market.

Nicolas Fry, Head of Charter Management at Hill Robinson, spearheaded the project, recognising the opportunity to create a yacht specifically designed to generate revenue while covering operational costs.

“We gathered invaluable insights from brokers, captains, and clients on what they envision as the perfect charter yacht,” Fry said. “We used these insights to develop a comprehensive brief for Dölker + Voges, which allowed Isabella Knappe to create a design that truly focuses on chartering. Building this yacht with the right shipyard will attract clients, maintain price competitiveness, and keep maintenance costs under control.”

One standout feature of the yacht is its flexible cabin arrangement. The six staterooms can be combined in pairs to create three spacious VIP suites, each with its own lounge area. Sliding doors provide the option to separate or join the suites, making them ideal for families travelling with children.

On the exterior, the yacht boasts multi-level aft terraces, offering stunning views, a swimming pool, sun loungers, and an alfresco dining area for guests to enjoy outdoor living. The Perfect Charter Yacht also features an entertainment lounge equipped with games and a large-screen television, along with a sundeck that includes a barbecue and additional lounge seating.

At the stern, a beach club with fold-down terraces opens onto the water, providing direct access to a wellness suite that includes a sauna and gym. The yacht also offers ample storage for tenders and water toys, enhancing its appeal to charter guests.

The design also carefully considers the movement and accommodation of the crew, ensuring the highest standards of service and hospitality for charter guests.

The Perfect Charter Yacht is expected to command high season rates of EUR 600,000 per week in the Mediterranean during summer, and USD 650,000 per week in the Caribbean during winter.

“We anticipate bookings of at least five weeks at the high season rate during the summer, plus an additional three weeks at lower rates,” Fry explained. “In winter, the yacht could easily achieve two weeks at the high season rate and another two at a slightly reduced rate. This would result in a net charter income of EUR 5,359,832.”

Robert Voges, Founder and Managing Director of Dölker + Voges, added: “It was a pleasure to collaborate with Hill Robinson on this project. The challenge of integrating multiple functionalities into a single vessel, while appealing to a wide range of clients, was exciting. With our 27+ years of experience in custom yacht design and Hill Robinson's expertise in charters and operations, we’ve created a yacht that seamlessly blends form and function, resulting in an elegant yet highly functional design.”

This collaboration between Hill Robinson and Dölker + Voges is expected to set a new standard in the charter market.
