A look inside the world’s largest charter yachts

This week, we’re having a look at some of the largest yachts available on the charter circuit. Most you’ll be able to spot on the Mediterranean circuit, but some travel more exploratory routes. Data from SuperYacht Times IQ, reveals that there are over 80 operating superyachts measuring above a 100 metres, yet only six are currently available for charter. We take a look at what makes those six 100m+ charter yachts so unique.

Octopus | 126.2 m (414’0”) | Lürssen | 2003

At 126.2-metres, Octopus is currently the largest yacht available for charter on the market, yet you won’t find her on the Mediterranean-Caribbean circuit. This superyacht, instead, can be found cruising around the South-Pacific during the summer months and in Antarctica in the winter.

Octopus is a renowned world-class cruiser and one of the most well-travelled yachts, having travelled to some of the world’s most remote destinations. Another stand-out feature, besides her cruising capabilities, is her owner’s deck, which features a private bar, jacuzzi, and an al fresco dining area. Octopus also features an entertainment deck, including a spa, library, bar, cinema, gym, various lounges and a basketball court.

With naval architecture by Lürssen, Octopus features exterior design by Espen Øino International and interior design by Jonathan Quinn Barnett Ltd. and Monk Design. In 2024, she completed an extensive 11 month refit in Bremerhaven, by her builder. She can accommodate 26 guests across 13 staterooms and has a crew of 45. Octopus is for charter with Burgess.

In 2025 she was crowned ‘World Superyacht of the Year’ at the Supyacht Awards in Venice, and was described as having “outstanding lifestyle features,” as well as having ”spellbinding interiors where no centimetre is overlooked.”

For charter with Cecil Wright, Kismet can accommodate up to 16 guests across eight staterooms. The superyacht is cared for by a crew of 37, with 19 crew cabins onboard.

One of the highlights onboard Kismet is her wellness sanctuary, featuring a Balinese-inspired spa, with amenities including a hammam, sauna and cryotherapy chamber. There’s a private treatment room outfitted with a massage table, waterfall shower and chromotherapy bathtub. She sports a gym and yoga studio complimented by a juice bar.

Her main deck aft features two bars for all-day refreshments, one of which doubles as a sushi bar, while the other features a pizza oven for poolside dining.

Renaissance features a spa deck, which includes a fitness centre, housing a proper gym, ballet bar, yoga spaces, hot & cold plunge pools, as well as a steam room, sauna, and a hair and beauty salon. One of the most iconic sailing yachts, with her three 70/6-metre DynaRig carbon masts, is Black Pearl. Built by Oceanco, the sailing yacht features a multi-level central atrium and an all-glass lift that rises along the central mast, providing a feeling of vertical integration between the decks.

Standout features onboard include her beach club, which transforms into a night lounge, as well as a hammam, sauna, and massage room, gym and the largest exterior cinema screen ever installed on a yacht.

Able to accommodate up to 12 guests across seven luxurious staterooms and attended by a crew of 27, Black Pearl is for charter with IYC.

Dream | 106.5 m (349’4”) | Halic Tersaneleri | 1997

The ideal charter yacht for large-scale entertaining, Dream feels more like a full-service, luxury resort at sea than a charter yacht. Originally built in 1997, Dream was refitted in 2018.

Onboard, she features an expansive wellness area, including a fully equipped gym, massage room, and beauty salon. Additionally, there is a steam bath, sauna, and Jacuzzi, cinema, and karaoke. Dream also features a business centre with nine work stations and an eight-person meeting room.

Dream can accommodate 36 guests across 22 staterooms and a crew of 32. The 10-metre motor yacht is for charter with Hill Robinson.

A closer look at Silver Yachts’ Reduce

Currently for sale and open for viewing in Monaco is the aluminium catamaran Reduce. Delivered in 2024 by Silver Yachts, the yacht features interiors by the yard herself and exterior design and naval architecture by Espen Øino.

She has a volume of 483 GT and can cruise at a maximum speed of 24 knots, powered by four Volvo Penta engines. The catamaran has a range of 3,200 NM at a cruising speed of 18 knots. In 2025 she won the Special Jury Award at the Monaco Blue Wake Awards for her fuel efficiency, thanks to her low-resistance hull.

97m Lürssen Carinthia VII in Saint Tropez 🇫🇷

Delivered in 2002 by Lürssen, Carinthia VII was, at the time, one of the largest yachts ever built in Germany. Her deep-blue hull makes her instantly recognisable, paired with elegant exterior lines by Tim Heywood and interiors curated by Ellerhorst Kreuter. Following her major refit in 2023 at Lürssen’s Hamburg facilities, Carinthia VII emerged with renewed interiors designed by Bizzozero Cassina Architects, an extended beach club, and upgraded systems. More recently, she underwent a bridge refit at IGY Sète Marina in France, featuring the integration of YachtEye on a custom 75-inch touchscreen.

Constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, Carinthia VII is powered by four MTU diesel engines, enabling a top speed of 25 knots and a cruising range of 5,000 nautical miles at 15.5 knots. Carinthia VII can comfortably accommodate up to 14 guests across a seven stateroom configuration, as well as a crew of 26.
